Woliso

This is typical for Ethiopia, a goat on top and more cars than lanes

Because we are staying in Ethiopia for such an extended amount of time, we feel it is important to get out once a week for a day trip to see a new area and to get some fresh air, this day we decided to go to Woliso. Woliso is located in central Ethiopia and it is considered to hold the second largest flower farm in Ethiopia. Remember Ethiopia's second major export is roses! It was a beautiful drive to Negash Lodge in Woliso, the countryside was green from the more frequent rain. Just driving along the countryside was enjoyable, watching the daily life of the surrounding people.

Mawerdi was happy to find her own chair, just for her, fit for a princess. The Negash Lodge is not only lovely but peaceful. The sound of the birds, with the scenery of lush vegetation everywhere is a nice way to spend your afternoon.

Enjoying some lunch at the lodge

Mawerdi loves watching water swoosh around in water bottles, and so when she saw her first fountain she was in awe!

The Negash Lodge has several different style tukuls, this was the tradition Oromo Tukul.

One of the best things about this beautiful place, the playful monkeys. We could have watched them for hours playing and chasing each other.

  1. This is such a lovely park area and interesting as well. Thanks for sharing the pictures as I was unable to see it with you in person. Mawerdi's fascination with water is delightful. There are numerous life experiences associated with water and this must be a sign!!!
